Privacy Policy for TailLog

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name as provided by those services.

When you use the app, we collect:

• Your location, to show aircraft flying near you
• Aircraft spottings you log, including registration, airline, aircraft type, altitude, and any notes you add
• Photos you choose to attach to spottings

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide the TailLog service — specifically, to show you nearby aircraft and maintain your personal spotting logbook. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond operating the app.

Third Party Services

TailLog uses the following third party services:

• Supabase — for account management and data storage
• Apple Sign In — optional sign-in method
• Google Sign In — optional sign-in method
• airplanes.live — to provide live aircraft data near your location

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Data Retention

Your account and spotting data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen within the app.

Location Data

Location is used in real time to fetch aircraft near you. We store the approximate location of each spotting you log (to record where you were when you spotted the aircraft), but we do not track or store your location continuously.

Children's Privacy

TailLog is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
